 POLICE OFFICER MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• $25 non-refundable application fee*;

• U.S. Citizen or legally authorized to work in the United States (must meet I-9 requirements at time of hire);

• High School Diploma or equivalent;

• 21 years of age by May 25, 2015;

• Valid Driver’s License;

• No felony convictions. NOTE: Some convictions for misdemeanors or serious traffic offenses may also disqualify applicants from further consideration;

• Completion and submission of online application and all required documents by 4:00 p.m. CST on Friday, January 30, 2015.

*The application fee can be waived for candidates experiencing financial hardship.

SALARY AND BENEFITS INFORMATION:

Probationary Police Officers earn $55,051 annually. This position is covered under the City of Champaign Fraternal Order of Police Bargaining Unit labor agreement. FOP employees receive paid sick leave, personal leave, vacation, and 10 paid City holidays per year. Other benefits include: health, dental, vision and life insurance options. Officers who establish residency within the City of Champaign may apply for a $3,000.00 reimbursement to cover moving expenses.
